believably unbelievable...

Depicting the dioramas of our dreams in CGI, is Alex McLeod. As much as I want these these seemingly tactile fantasy landscapes to be real, they exist only in print.

Quite a concept for furniture, I'm not sure if one is actually expected to carry this on their back, but I'm loving the innovation.

The film was produced in stop-motion over 3 weeks in Autumn 2008. Each scene was shot on a home-made dolly by an insane bunch of animators; you can see time-lapse films of each sequence being prepared and shot in our other films. "

I leave it out. I lock eyes. I write it down. I say thank you. I walk away. I pretend laugh. I for real cry. I say I voted. I wonder if he really loves me."

matthew croft gets crafty.

interesting typographic exploration by matthew croft. ... i dig . : )

"the following documents an isometric grid consisting of hundreds of nails, around which string and lace were wrapped in order to produce typographic illustrations. the grid attempts not to restrict, but to restrain the typographic forms produced by the user - whilst allowing for 'expressive' and distinct solutions, cohesion is maintain throughout.

the final image suggests how such outcomes could work in digital form."

"Begining with the architecture of the clothing, these quilts are pieced without a predetermined pattern. This process provides the maker an opportunity to examine his or her life patterns.

The resulting quilts reflect the relationship of the maker to the materials, retain a sense of the body, and in the case of bereavement, carry the consoling essence of the beloved."

thanksgiving goodies...

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
My contribution to the feast this year is ... iced pumpkin cookies. They came out yummier than expected : )... Here's the recipe (they're super easy to make!)

INGREDIENTS

* 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 teaspoon baking powder
* 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
* 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
* 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 3/4 cup butter, softened
* 1 1/2 cups white sugar
* 1 cup canned pumpkin puree
* 1 egg
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

* 2 cups confectioners' sugar
* 3 tablespoons milk
* 1 tablespoon melted butter
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, ground cloves, and salt; set aside.
2. In a medium bowl, cream together the 3/4 cup of butter and white sugar. Add pumpkin, egg, and 1 teaspoon vanilla to butter mixture, and beat until creamy. Mix in dry ingredients. Drop on cookie sheet by tablespoonfuls; flatten slightly.
3. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven. Cool cookies, then drizzle glaze with fork.
4. To Make Glaze: Combine confectioners' sugar, milk, 1 tablespoon melted butter, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Add milk as needed, to achieve drizzling consistency.

Bendita Gloria are definitely front runners in crafty design. Their special attention to materials comes natural, considering their arts & crafts background. I love how they explore typography creatively and tastefully.

visible sound.

Thanks Sounds.Butter!
Music and sewing... two of my favorite things joining forces in efforts to make sound visible! This chic little machine has a cute car radio implant on the front and speakers for knobs : )
I kinda want to paint my sewing machine black now.

'The intention for this project was to make sound visible. As there is already a variety of ways in which sounds can be seen (equalizers, sub-titles, etc.), my aim was to produce a device where that representation of sound would be a physical one. I therefore used the sewing machine as the basis for the project as I feel it is synonymous with industry, and making physical products.'

oh.. btw. it's a prototype.

I'm glad you're here.
